The guided ride pedals across calm water and mangrove surroundings out to the bay, where stirring the water with your hands and feet sets off the glow. Each water bike seats two, and the operator runs rain or shine, with the lead guide making any weather call at the meeting point. Swimming in the bay is not allowed under DRNA regulations, and the operator is upfront that bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon: how visible it is depends on the moon phase, weather, and water conditions that night.
