Domes takes its name from the shuttered BONUS nuclear plant whose dome is still visible from the point. It is a reef break, not a lounging beach: winter groundswells (roughly November through April) draw experienced surfers from across the island, and the small bay's shape creates a circulating 'toilet bowl' current when waves get big. The bottom is rocky with sea urchins in places, and entry takes some care. This is Rincon's surf-town identity in one beach, not its family swim spot.
