The short version: Puerto Rico Playbook earns commissions when you book activities, flights, hotels, or rental cars through links on this site. It costs you nothing extra. Commissions never influence what we recommend.
This disclosure is provided to comply with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR Part 255 Endorsement Guides and the EU Unfair Commercial Practices Directive.
Affiliate programs we participate in
- Viator (Tripadvisor): tours and experiences. We earn a commission on confirmed bookings.
- DiscoverCars: car rentals. Up to 70% of the booking margin.
- Agoda: hotels and other stays. Hotel searches and stay links on this site open on Agoda and we earn a commission on completed bookings.
- Expedia Group (Expedia, Vrbo, Hotels.com): hotels, vacation rentals, and packages. We are a direct Expedia Group Travel Creator partner and earn a commission on completed stays booked through those links.
- Travelpayouts partners (our booking hub): the flights, transfers, insurance, and eSIM on our booking page are affiliate links through Travelpayouts. This includes Aviasales (flights), Booking.com (hotels), Kiwitaxi (airport transfers), EKTA and Insubuy (travel insurance), and Yesim (eSIM). Commissions vary by partner.
How we choose what to recommend
Every beach, restaurant, activity, and hotel on Puerto Rico Playbook is checked against live sources, its own site, current ratings, or official listings, before it earns a spot. Recommendations are based on quality, value, and traveler fit, never on commission rates. If a higher-paying affiliate had a worse product, we’d leave it off.
How to identify affiliate links
Whenever you click a booking or external search button on this site, you can assume it is an affiliate link unless explicitly stated otherwise. We use a popup confirmation on Viator links so you know you are leaving Puerto Rico Playbook before you redirect. The price you pay is identical whether or not you use our links.
Why this matters
Affiliate commissions are how this site stays free. They cover hosting, photography, travel expenses, and the time spent updating recommendations. If a guide ever feels pushed by commissions instead of honesty, please tell us at hello@puertoricoplaybook.com. We want every recommendation to be one we would give a friend.
