Sandy Beach sits just north of the Punta Higüera lighthouse in Rincon's Puntas neighborhood, and it draws a gentler crowd than Domes down the coast: beginner and intermediate surfers, bodyboarders, and paddleboarders sharing a wide stretch of golden sand. Kiosks and a rental trailer behind the palm-lined parking lot rent boards, chairs, and umbrellas, and the same westward-facing shoreline that makes Rincon famous for surf also makes it reliable for sunset.
Best time
Late afternoon into sunset.
Swim safety
No lifeguards. Generally more approachable surf than Domes down the coast, but it's still open ocean, check conditions before swimming out.
Parking
Lot behind the palm trees at the kiosks.
