This tour uses clear-bottom canoes on Mosquito Bay, the Guinness World Record holder for brightest bioluminescent bay, so the glow is visible underneath the canoe as well as in the water around the paddles. At 90 minutes it runs shorter than the kayak version, launching from the Esperanza area with a guide leading the group through the bay after dark. The clear hull is the main difference from a standard kayak tour, giving a different angle on the same glowing water.
Pro tip
Like the kayak version, this books around the moon phase; ask when you reserve which nights that week are closest to new moon for the brightest water.
